| A poor choice of words. |
Behind me lies the central courtyard of the Brownstone Park Apartments - affordable housing in central Austin, never mind the insects. In Winter, this is an empty place. For months, it will see no barbecues, no birthday parties, no intoxicated, late-night swims. Winter in Texas, you see, is time for a warm couch, a cold beer and a television glowing blue. All the families here have windows facing the courtyard but they keep the curtains closed: alone, together, comfortable.
Next time on Zayo, we shun the company of the comfortable people, and join our rabbit and Comic Bear as they sit beneath this light and speak on their chosen profession. The word is "comics," the strip is "Theory," and I hope you'll join me December 15th to see it through. Good night, and stay warm.
